World Antimicrobial Awareness Week is a global campaign aimed at raising awareness about antimicrobial resistance, which occurs when germs develop the ability to defeat the drugs designed to kill them. This is caused by the misuse and overuse of antimicrobial medications.

This resistance makes standard treatments ineffective ineffective, leading to persistent infections, and a higher risk of disease spread, severe diseases spread, severe illness, and death.

The objective of this week is to raise awareness about antimicrobial resistance and promote the correct use of antibiotics to combat this global health threat.
